  The WTBTS and Elders have too many stupid rules!

  i hated ministry book bags.i hated coming out of my home with the book bags looking like i was going to a seminar.so,i starting going to the ministry school and sunday bible meetings holding only the required books for that day in my hand.. for the sunday meetings,i would just carry the song book,bible and watchtower magazine in my hand.

  no book bag!

  for the ministry school,i would just carry just what necessary for the evening.

  just wanted to share with my friends, old and new, i got married to an "unbeliever" 11 years ago.. at the weekend we had our marriage blessed in our local parish church with a little party after.. my husband always supported my religious convictions until i disassociated myself in december 2013.. don't deprive yourself of love just because of the jw's.

  life is too short.. god bless.

  And on the subject of marrying a non-JW, where I live it's now legal for me to marry a dude!
  

  Or, I could marry that JW sister out4good4 described as "overweight body, pushing 40 and not particularly attractive character." Say, would she happen to have an even less desirable, single, older sister that's a dirt-broke pioneer with absolutely no sense of humor?

  Similar to JWdaughter, I get the borg's website, then wikipedia, then the poisoning and some other articles, then JW facts.

  That's the advantage of WT having only one official pro-JW website. It leaves lots of room on the first page of google for TTATT.

  i don't have hate in my heart for the organization that i spent most of my life in, but i have had an awakening.

  luckily, so has my wife, and that way i don't feel so alone.

  Governing Body Member Stephan Lett Lies On JW.TV

  i thought it would be important to clearly point in the recent talk by governing body member stephan lett, that he did in fact deliberately lie concerning what he described as lies and false information by apostates, concerning the organization being permissive toward people in the organization who had been involved in pedophilia.

  the truth of the matter is thats exactly what the organization has been doing and perhaps for a long time.

  the recent candace conti law suit where she was awarded 28 million dollars was levied against the wts for its irresponsible behavior by the elders who gave no notification of the accused jonathan kendrick that he had been charged with pedophilia and spent months in jail for his actions .

  So, both of your grandmothers apostatized from the religions of their birth. Your family shouldn't be surprised that you left the JWs, you are following in their footsteps.

  i think i've mentioned before that from time to time my commute on the bqe takes me past the old factory buildings and the soon to be former headquarters building.

  i was struck the other day with how shabby they've become.

  even 25 columbia heights, still currently occupied, its facade is filthy.

  With terrorism the way it is maybe it's a wise decision to move out of the epicenter of what many experts think is the target for a future terrorist attack

  Leave it to Jehovah to promise to not let any harm come to his earthly organization, but he couldn't protect them from an underwear bomber. I wonder if Jehovah is still scared of chariots with iron wheels. LOL. Those Bronze Age gods are so 4000 years ago!

  so since i blew up at my family for being self righteous hate mongers, my uncle sent me a huge letter calling my ignorant and uncaring.

  to which i exploded back with an email.

  may have gone a bit too far on that one, but whatever what is done is done.

  FMF, Nobody knows how to push our buttons quite like family. And everyone in our family that is older than us is usually inclined to think that we're still very young and inexperienced, certainly not as mature as THEY are.

  To add to the list in the OP:

  A legal department that looks criminal. -- It used to fight to defend religious freedom and freedom of speech, but now is reduced to paying out settlements and trying to defend WT's failed "protecting our child molesters" policy.

  Preaching has changed. -- Yesterday went through a different part of downtown and saw a couple of WT litteratrash carts, an elder-type playing with his phone, and a couple of sisters talking to each other. They're tucked in the entryway of a building under renovation about a block away from where pedestrian traffic is. Jeez, I thought working on construction projects was an easier way than d2d to get my time, but now they count time just standing around downtown. And d2d seems to be reduced to handing out tracts for their website.

  after almost 24 years in the school and doing it since i was nine years old, i officially resigned.

  it has become increasingly difficult to prepare talks, especially with the new format for brothers.

  i did not mind doing them; i actually put the time and effort into getting them out.
